I'm counting the buttons on my shirt,
He loves me,
He loves me not,
He loves me,
He loves me not,
He loves me,
He loves me not,
And then I panic,
There's one button missing.
Quickly I look in the sewing basket,
I'm nervous,
I turn the whole thing over on the table.
Thank God, it's there.
With careful stitches I put it back in place
And start counting again.
Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, YES!!!
I'm running to my Mom,
Grab her around the waist,
While shouting: "Mom, he loves me!"
Astounded she asks:
"Who darling?"
But I'm already dancing out of the room.
He loves me, me, me, ME!!!
I was fourteen.

Great! Your delightful poem is back! What a novel way of forecasting your love life! I used to tear off daisy petals but if it was going to end up that he loves me not, I would tear the last petal into two so that he loves me!
