Through wilderness
the number'd cast me
whereupon by chance
within a clearing
I'd found a place
unlooked for, and Sophia

She stood
before the gleaming
stonework of a chapel
unmarked and unadorned
and beckoned me
with a smile

"You've returned at last"
she softly spoke
"Do I know thee?"
I asked abashed
She laughed and answered,
"You know all as all know thee, come inside and you shall see"

Before the door I stood
but dared not take another step
"What shall I find in there?"
I asked and she replied
"All that you'd left behind"
and softly kissed my lips

Into her ancient eyes
I gazed awhile
and knew her again
"I've missed you"
she smiled and
lead me over threshold

"Come, take your soul, it's where you left it"

cleverly execute and ending with something
so thoughtfully done

'come take your soul where you left it'

if this isn't poetry, then i sure as hell
don't know what is. this is kickass raph.
it better end up in the book, or else ..
or else ::fading laughter:

I have missed so much not knowing your poetry and will not miss out on one of your poems again.  "come take your soul it's where you left it" - strong writing - and your imagery is extremely vivid.  I sure hope this makes it into the book, it is a wonderful piece.
