Shadows Calm, the after-shadows of all yesterdays having passed in a tense culmination to get the day beyond itself and we feel so superior to those who came before us, because we are in the here and now, with times "better" for some and "so-so" for others. We would take it all back Frantic, the shadows so clearly stand in today's light, trying to grasp the hand of the clock as it ticks by and by and by losing grasp of all reality in a moment of time as it whisks by in a blink of an eye and with the rise and fall of a breast's breath. Would we give it all away Beckoning are yet-to-come shadows so faint but we do see them in the sparkling light of today, chanting "tomorrow, tomorrow" as fervent hope looks forward to a bright future where all hopeful people are, in like with their dreams that won't die, to see a calm in their tomorrow that will only visit their yesterdays after the panic. There, light eternal in shadows ~*~ ©Karilea Rilling Jungel 27 September, 2000 ever-so-slightly revised 30 December 2002 |

This is amazing Karilea. Fluid, but tight. The message is gorgeous but I am fascinated with the construction here. Mind if I keep this one awhile to study? wow. me likes muchly. |

Frantic, the shadows so clearly stand in today's light, trying to grasp the hand of the clock as it ticks by and by and by I love this verse! The poem is exceptional, Karilea. But that verse...I could see. |

Karilea, your talent is so unique, and you put your poetry together with such excellency that I am always left in awe. I love the way you do that. I hope that one day, I will learn....not to necessarily write the "way" you do (because then it wouldn't be me), but to put poetry together in the different forms and techniques that you use. Thank you, Karilea, for showing me ways to really write........ ![]() "Love makes the world go around" |

Again you have outdone yourself. This is a wonderful and fascinating work of art. A showpiece for all novice poets, like myself, to study and learn from. ![]() |

enjoyed the "hope" within your words--Happy New Year! "And it was at that age...Poetry arrived in search of me...And something started in my soul." |
