Eliza

A start, she made,
in opening Volume VII,
a start,
she promised herself,
a heart start,
a healing
beginning,

then she cried.

“Dry the tears,”
inner voices decreed,
so she dried,
and sighed,
and watched the
snow fly by.

No longer young,
but not yet frail,
her own devices sung
her inner torment’s jail

for truth was told
and blush lost bold
so many years ago

still he married
and still he carries
those memories he
doesn’t know.

~*~

Volume Seven
shall hold more truths
of the many roads
she’s traveled,
she’ll shed some tears,
but show no fear
as life and lives
unravel

she wonders now
that perhaps somehow,
she’ll walk,
unscathed,
in gravel.

And she knows
the blood will show
as footsteps go
on.

The questions she
will ask of self
might be asked
of any

she hopes to win
no heart but His
though once hearts
were ever many.

~*~

Eliza sends her love
to you,
the keeper of the key,
her song she sings
with rhyme at time
when sung
in poetry.

No mistress she,
but truth prevails
as she hides
behind her veils,
to right some wrongs
and stands, purloined,
a piece of gold
gone free.

Volume Seven begins.

This was exquisite!!
Your poem was such a lovely pouring out of emotions.  I'm one to pick and choose
my favorite verse but I found it impossible,
they were all so good.
Welcome Eliza~

WELCOME, ELIZA!
You've danced the seven veils in the most poetic fashion. I loved this entrance and hope to see more dancing soon.

What blush does hide behind the veil
from words that speak of poet's life.
What though might come from in a tale
where poets write, through joy or strife.

Welcome Elize,  a very interesting first,
enjoyed..and looking forward to it...
