On a hill over looking the valley One lonley stranger appears Searching th edarkness before him Captured in starlight and tears And he turns to the one who has sent him So far on this phathomless sea And he wonders how long he must travel In the heart of the wild country All around him like silhouettes falling away Are the children of yesterday's pain Lost and alone he lays down with the wind To wait for the sound of the rain He moves down through the valley of sorrow Led by the light he set free And he wonders how long he must travel In the heart of the wild country And there on the distant horizon Where children still dance in the rain He sees the reflection of morning And hears someone calling his name Something inside him remembers The reason he sails the lost sea He knows there is someone to lead him Home from the wild country Sunlight and shadows bend down from the sky And children remember his songs Held in the brace of a whispersing grace He discovers the mystery of dawn He bows down to the light that is falling On the one he was chosen to be And he touches the hand that has called him Home from the wild country Music is the language God used to create the Universe |
