Funny, another September Has come, soon will be gone This coming October Will blow with remembrance Colors that have changed Will gather upon the ground Soon November, time to remember Wonder if you often do? As I watch the colors changing I somehow hold back a tear This was supposed to become easier Yet has become harder Each second, minute, hour, day Now has become twenty-four months Agonizing hell, guess the devil has to be paid Words and whiskey Pills and pain Some have numbed Others the same For unlike the colors of the trees When I hear the leaves rustle in the breeze I realize, through it all I still have not changed Guess I never will Asked God to take your memory away And perhaps someday...he will 9/23/02 Copyright © 2002 Dennis Hicks All Rights Reserved By Author |

Thank you for this, it speaks to me and reaches a place that I too wish I could forget. A very beautiful work of heart it is! [This message has been edited by BluesSerenade (12-27-2002 11:27 PM).] |

This feels like it is a piece of your heart. It's very well-written. ![]() "Love makes the world go around" |
