the chase

Let’s chase
the breeze’s sigh
as it passes by
and ripples
the summer pond

Let’s dance
through meadow’s grass
as lad and lass
with larks
around us singing

Let’s kiss
with touch resembling
aspen leaves' trembling
in the warmth
of the morning sun

(Happy Valentine's Day, Sweet One)

tender and sweet...

Simmering In The Shade

I love the pressing
heat of the sun
but prefer to sit
in the shade
so I can chase
your shadows
arranging them
in simple bouquet
where the hostas
and foxgloves
bleed with
hearts all aflutter

oops...forgot to say...happy happy day SAG
