I don’t talk about her often Though thoughts of her still Find their way across scorched fields of time And bring a bloom of wild flower To the charcoal dusted days. She was older And gentle in ways that touched children With smiles Brought animals to her door Where handouts were only a beginning Of adoption. She took me in like one of those strays, Bandaging cut nights with kisses Soothing bruised insights with The oasis of her skin laid on mine As drinking of her generosity I grew smoothly sated I am too craggy and rough spined For someone so tender to try and walk Barefoot across my life Without the thorns and shards leaving Them scarred but, She always smiled Wishing me more than the best. The days numbered themselves And now number her gone so I don’t speak of her often For the echoes when I do Can’t deafen the voice inside Calling me cruel and crude To bleed such a heart as Hers. (sigh) It is so hard to think of someone a different way tat you used to love, then everything becomes distorted and you wouldn't want to changea detail for the lithograph as a souvenir to yourself! (big hugggssssss) This is heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ron, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Though thoughts of her still Find their way across scorched fields of time And bring a bloom of wild flower To the charcoal dusted days. ~~ The days numbered themselves And now number her gone so those lines are poetically brilliant.
