One year ago I did the same, left behind words with my name. A rose, and poem Valentine will take once more and leave behind... Again alone on this the day when others share in warmth and love. But I shall place not one, but two to mark another empty of: Left Behind Valentine Come this special day, I shall wrap myself in phantom thoughts of you, travel the distance, to sit upon a once shared place. Moments spent will return to fill this mind, watching, waiting for your casual gait, for you to stride towards me. As the phantom-you approaches, my eyes will light up, meeting yours, searching yours, to feel their touch upon my own, one last time. Many days have past since the last, yet the feelings have remained warm. I shall leave behind a rose for you, ribbon bound, benched with a message attached: "A rose, my feelings of a once upon love. Left behind memories, to fill emptiness of..." "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." This is a beautiful yet almost heart wrenching piece. |

Brad,Dixie, thank you. But I think this will become an annual event for me. And I will be there tomorrow and leave the roses and the poem behind and then try to enjoy myself with a movie, alone but not alone, because in the theater will be others...and in the dark, I am never alone. M |
