In the Quiet In the quiet I am faceless, mourning the death, black cloth covering, no other side to see. Blinded by the thoughts that delve into reasoning. Eyes, impaired, no longer linger in blue, but see only shadows, in outlines stilled. In the quiet I am fearless, worries pressed behind, heart no longer raging, the color red meaningless, remembering the words "be careful what you wish for", now understanding why Alice surfaces to hold my hand and walk me through it, once again. In the quiet, she is my angel in disguise, and I borrow my strength from her and will surrender to her and one other on Valentines Day, the three of us not as alone, as I felt yesterday. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |
