This is a partial tale of my venture yesterday in putting up the icicle lights outside. December 19 with a neighbor at hand I set out to make merry with lights that were grand. I gathered the strings so conveniently stowed in boxes and bags taped up without bows. Then looked for the ladder the five-foot with two limbs an aid to rise up to reach eaves to trim. It took me a while but fin’ly success though I left a few objects in a bit of a mess. To the front of the lawn with my ladder in tow we set out to start where my summer’s rose grow. The bag of clips for attaching to eaves tumbled and bumbled on the ground full of leaves. We gathered them up and my neighbor held on while we untangled the light strings that were strewn on the lawn. Beginning my climbs of the up and down trips she passed me the string and a couple of clips. My attempt to do hanging was interrupted a bit when the string got all hung-up in the roses sweet hips. The thorns how they clung to the wires and the lights, we found that they made an incredible sight. We fin’ly succeeded in freeing the things, continued our venture of trimming the wings. She bid me adieu and I stowed away ladder in doing this chore I raised quite a clatter. For what did I find as I placed it away the missing for years icicle lights bay. They’d been stowed in the shop in their original box why I couldn’t I find them is a job of Sherlock’s. ©December 20, 2002 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

(chuckling)... nicely done Virginia... I'm always finding things when I am not looking for them or have just finished the job I could have used them for... |
