When Your Heart Comes Home

From time to time it's simple to lose
the sentient Keeper of your Heart,
so many occurrences in each day
so many things that may take part

So many great roles to play, so very little time,
if the Keeper of your Heart never calls you, “mine”

Now and then you may forget to say
to the steadfast Keeper of your Heart,
“I love you very much, my dear”
and that loss can tear you apart

So very little time, so many great roles to play,
If you as Keeper of the Heart, forget these words to say

Is it hard throughout the day, to call your love, your friend?
Is it difficult to find a quiet moment in which you two may spend,
to give a hug, a kiss, impart a loving whisper in their ear?
Wouldn’t you as a Keeper, know in your Heart this fear?

So many great roles to play, so very little time
if the Keeper of your Heart, never calls you “mine”

So if you have a place within your widening heart,
that when next, your love, to your love, would impart
look into the eyes of one, your very greatest gift,
and with God’s blessings, give your love a lift...

Admit there is little time, for the role you play is great
and thank God daily, my dear, for your wondrous, loving mate

Karilea - this is quite lovely. Yes, we should say "I love you" first thing each morning and the last thing each night. A little hug with each might be nice too!
