Turn your head and close your eyes You are in for painful surprise Reality comes with such a pretty bow All the truth I have been shown Looking in the mirror, lying to what I see Now awakening from the California dream Farewell to the promised land Where we had never been Jealousy overcame and all the truth I've seen Turn your head and close your mouth Your voice screams of memories rememberance of meaningful nights shared From you I will tear rememberance of lonely nights bared Who thought I should care Looking in your eyes, lying to you and me Now awakening from the sweet dream that we called you and me |

Very sad, Talia. Yes, sometimes you have to turn your head and walk away, when the bare truth of the dream reveals a lie. |

Hi Talia I just read your message in your critique box... I like that. I just write how I feel, too. Actually, I don't know any other way to write. I like the way you are writing what you feel in this poem, even though it is sad... "Love makes the world go around" |

Well, hi. I personally am fascinated with illusions and socially constructed dreams of life, which for the most part are not true. So this poem was interesting to me.. The place we're in after we discover the truth is such a peculiar space. The holes are shaped so oddly your not even sure how to refill them. I enjoyed reading your poem and I appreciate that you just how you feel. It's honest and bare. - Jaime Shiva went on break now look at how much it's gonna take to make this place a space where we can breathe. |
