Never before had the gentle wind Blown through the majesty of a moments glance almost as if it were a figment of imagination The look that gleamed back at me…before only read about Pretending not to notice, I looked away Almost like a child, as if I’d done something wrong But we both knew what I had seen We both knew we could feel it…even across the room In contemplative thought my mind allowed my lips to chatter Aimlessly they rambled on, almost as if they were a recording on auto-play Yet the track in my mind held onto the fleeting moment past Like water to a thirsty man, I caressed the single drop "Why so scared" I asked myself "Afraid of the moment"? Declining an answer, Once more I just looked away And waited until the cold wind howled in the Middle of the night…to think of this thought…again © Copyright-2003 Dennis Hicks All rights reserved |
