Listening to every heart

Hope and Faith

I shift and sift the sands
of time
solemnly, only in my
mind
and weigh the say
of daily pray
and wonder if I'll
make the climb

too much lost on love
long spent
and too soon
to have reached content
though softest croon
lies deep in my throat
it's caught, the note
it hardly floats
I can't sing
for solace to bring
~ but the rains,
they come again ~

fleeting, albeit, the sad
gray days
so I sift and shift
the moments away
in rhyme of time
a sip of wine
and look forward
to what might be
~ for hope,
you see…
carries me…. ~

the moment will pass,
while looking glass
glazes o'er
the truth of sure…

and I gather in
then blot up
the spilled dreams
of a loving cup
but drips and drops
are left behind
sweeter fallen
than in my mind

and curse not I the
roads traversed
for they have all rehearsed
me to where I shall
stage
my written page
for the war's been waged
and gone is the rage…

and gone, too, the grief
lacking, tho, a sense of relief
~ but hope,
you see,
carries me….
and faith… ~
that I shall find
the best that's yet to be
e'en if told for now
my dreams are naught
but fallacy

I shall dream my dreams,
anyway
and believe in the belief
that come what may
this striving gives goal
to find the shoal
that shall harbor me
as my dreams foresee….

for hope, and faith, carry me.

Very nice,
seems we are looking on the opposite sides of the coin today,
but that might be expected between Sunshine and Gloom.
Enjoyed you excellent words.

Yes, Karilea...
everyone needs something in life to "carry them"
whenever things get cloudy and gray.
"Hope and Faith" are two of the best.....
