What do I see on this icy plain? A decimated world, torn apart, Now it is my time to reign, Even though I have a black heart For centuries your kind stood tall, Invincible towers of stone and glass, Ignorance made you think you'd never fall, But nothing can forever last So now the harsh wind howls, And frozen ground has rose, Beasts roar with angry scowls, At the hostile ground that froze A wasteland, this is all that stands, Life before, a fading past, It drifted away, like time's sands, On the wind that did harshly blast At the world men claimed to make, A fierce power that was swept aside, The arrogant men that lived in the wake, Destroyed by their granite pride Unable to change they upset the order Of balance that ruled this place, You forgot the ways of your mother, Now of your people there is no trace I have no pity, I have no soul, I am a power of cold ferocity, My rasping presence a heavy toll, And I heed not your calls for mercy I am a being born of the cold, From the north and south, Fulfilling the prophecy foretold, From the words of the elder's mouth "Our world shall be ripped away, And buried beneath the chill, Your sating desires that live for today, Vengeance is his, the price for your thrill Pay heed to the warning oh my children, Lest we fall unto the waste, Ignore your desire of possession, And lose the will for things so chaste." Arrogance forces you from the path, Ignorance forces you to not listen, Now I have claimed all with frozen wrath, And the sun kissed ice shall forever glisten This is my world, to rule and kill, The surviving members I'll hunt down, With talents born of deathly skill, And driven by my menacing frown This is the end of line, Your strength no longer granite, This is now the harsh time, Of my reign on the frozen planet... |

Thanks for the feedback everybody, I am glad you enjoy my work Sybil: - This poem is quite long but my longest rhyming poem is "Blood of Kings" which is one here from about two days ago. Glad you enjoyed the work |
