Birth threads that connect us
can twist and knot
but never be severed.
Those of one always entangled
making understanding hard to digest.
Years in the making, the one knot unties
allowing the freedom to be, each their own
and enjoy the offerings of give and take.

But then another ligament begins its choke.
The crimp regains its hold,
causing doubt and hurt and dares one
to make amends, always one-sided,
always accommodating, catering to the host
to slow down the warring words,
to appease the mind, to coexist
in this knotted world.

Ethel, I  usually talk too much and too fast. Poetry has taken the place of my voice for the last few years. Makes others appreciate that they don't have to listen to me *s
thanks

Dixie,
I hope you have a nice visit with your brother.
One of mine can stay 1000 miles away from me for the time being...
