With your suspicions
and all of their strange relations,
each armed with a sharp
pointed objective, you
collaborate.

Your hurt wails discordantly.
You don’t see that it’s self
inflicted.

Surely it would do us good
to talk, but at this moment
I have run out of words to
defend against the slew of
untruths with which you
so easily penetrate
my defenses.

The door frame and I whole
heartedly agree, refusing at all cost
to join in the fray.

Exhaustion wears
thin my fingerhold’s resolve.
My ears now unprotected
are assaulted by your
accusations.

I know its useless at thus point
but still I try
to insert that we
are not talking.
You cannot
hear me over your own
roar.

A shield of numbness takes
control, my eyes stand by
and watch your tirade;
they do not give
me away.

You finally notice my unblinking
eyes and lips unmoving.
The slight hiss of my breaths,
the only witness that I
am locked tightly inside.

The slamming door and
your exiting footsteps flatly
finish the conversation.

What a deafening silence that slamming door leaves... I can feel your agreeable door frame wince. *S*

This is superb, lady... the images are so captivating... the pain is so palpable. Excellent write!!!

to be able to talk... you also have to be able to listen.. slamming doors does not make for an easy hear of anyone...
