she said she loved you
your ego smiled at the adoration
and she saved #one
she said she needed you
and your self proclaimed depravation
compelled you to need her too

and that’s about when
you trusted her with #two
and #three, and still only
friendship, nevertheless she
loved you

she was good at keeping track of
the fine points, so steadily kept adding to her
stockpile of ammunition….and of course
she still loved you

seven years passed and she finally
decided to weigh out the figures-

the only thing that would
balance her equation-
was for you
to love her too

you only had friendship to
offer, with a wedding ring as proof

the words burned the un
into her equal sign and
she went over the deep
end of her calculations-
put everything down on paper-
and vilified you

a court appearance is pending

and of course, it goes with out saying
she still
loves you
