As brightly as the candles once did shine My loyalty and truthfulness were clear. As pillar once impaled upon the tine I stood upright as such and did not fear The creeping autumn wind that will invade The tightest threshold or the window sill That causes flames to flicker and to fade As I abandoned my once honoured will. The wax that gutters down the candle's side Expelled by reckless, hungry, wild flame Will gather in a pool that cannot hide The depth and breadth and vastness of my shame. But candles caught in time may be repaired If failings to a friend in time are shared. The noblest battles are always fought in vain |

Aye, Ian...it is never too late, unless we do nothing. This brought, for some reason, tears to my eyes... or was that a snowflake upon my eyelash? Thank you... |

Wonderful. Enjoyed for the flow and creativity and the last line says it all. Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |
