This little poem I write
might not be understood
Before I got my little Scooter
I surely never could

Understand how my friend could love
her little dog like a baby
I even told her that it might
be just a little too much, maybe

But then, for a gift
I got this little dog of mine
It's been almost a year now
and we get along real fine

I've had pets all my life
and I really did love them
But this one I'm more attached to
I hope I'll always have him

From the start he has been
as special as can be
Because he was a Christmas present
that my Love gave to me

I never did like to let
in the house, a dog to stay
But little Scooter from the start
in here most of the day

With him in my bed
I even let him sleep
That started out when just a puppy
and in his bed he would weep

I know when I talk about him
some think I'm mighty silly
But like my friend said to me
it doesn't matter, really

I've got my Love, my daughter,
my family and lots of friends
But, my little Scooter,
a loving ear he always lends

He listens to me when I have
happiness, troubles, or woes
It seems that with his instincts
my moods he always knows

When I come home from going places
and doing things I have to do
He greets me with such love and joy
like I've been gone for a year or two

So, if every now and then
a poem like this you see
I'm just talking about my little Scooter
who's like a "baby" to me

all these poems about dogs make me want
a dog. i mean, ive always wanted a dog as
a kid growing up but mom would never
allow for the carpets to be served as
dogpoop magnets.

Chris, I know. My Mom wouldn't let me have a dog in the
house, either. I didn't want one in the house
until I got Scooter. He seems just like a part of the family.

Yes Ethel, I do understand about your little scooter. They are always such a joy. Mine sleeps with me too. Sometimes they can give you so much comfort. This morning, when I opened up my front door, there was my little Benji just standing there. I was so happy to see him.

Sue, I'm so glad that Benji came home!!!!
I don't know how I'd be if Scooter got lost
or if something happened to him. He's so
much company to me.

Ethel,
Scooter, what a nice name...it makes me think that Scooter is a reliable dog who sits patiently when he knows his owner doesn't need him yet but unfailingly roars into life if he detects that his owner does.

Ethel,
Our little baby, Domino (small black cocker) turns 15 this summer. We've had her since she was six weeks. She thinks the outdoors is a toilet and our home the world! And BTW, when she drags her but on the carpet, we call her scooter.

Cute write.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

(smiles) Yay!!! Oh Ethel, I just love puppies and kittys so much, they always make me smile and it makes me cry in joy when puppies make the sweet moans of affection and when kittys play with yarn balls! (kiss on cheek) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, I wanna see pictures of Scooter now now now, LOL, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

Ethel, I truly understand your feelings towards your little Scooter. I felt that same special way about my last dog, which has paased away last year.
Now, with my new dog, i just don't have the same feeling... I kinda miss that special thing me and my doggie shared

Larry, I'll bet your little Domino is as
spoiled as my little Scooter. He thinks he's
a real little boy, I think.
He got the name Scooter because when he was just
a little baby, he used to scoot backwards more than
he walked forwards. lol

Dr. Pepper,
yeah, pets are so sweet. Mine hops up in my lap even
when I'm at the computer, sometimes. He brings toys
for me to play with him, too, while I'm at the computer.
He's spoiled rotten.

Noah,
I've got some pictures of Scooter in my
Picture It Program, but I don't know how to
put pictures on here yet. Nancy has tried to show me how,
but I just can't get it yet. Can pictures be uploaded
from my computer onto here, or do they have to
come from some link on the internet? Maybe I'll
learn all this one day. I have pictures of
Scooter on CD's, too. HaHa!!
