How I wish, just sometimes, I had someone to cook breakfast, bring it to me, in bed. With a small flower, even a dandelion, in miniature crystal vase, would be nice. A tray of love, I miss so much. How I wish, just sometimes, I had someone to love me. I get so lonely for that special touch. . . ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. Orange Juice, fried eggs and toast Spread with butter and chestnut roast Herbal tea with a touch of honey All on the heart of a old oak tree Sorry no flower in a vase With winter not a bloom in the place. Gloom |

Ohhhhh, Professor, With your kind of flowery breakfast, that would be one flower too much, anyway. This sounds just right. Thank you. Warm regards, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Ethel, Don't be too concerned. I think all single people, not attached somehow to a significant other, feels this ache sometimes. Joshua, my grandson just learned to make scrambled eggs and French toast and egg salad with lots of garlic...when he comes and spends night with me I almost have to hide the eggs, least we end up with a cholestrol attack! He brought me a flower once. It was my daughters only blossom on a special plant she nursed to health for couple months, and was thrilled for that one flower at least, practically worshipping it. Knowing what a special flower that was, he picked it, just for me. Tsk! (without asking, first) So, I am loved, one way or another. Thanks for responding. Hugs, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. "Desiderata" [This message has been edited by regards2you (12-19-2002 12:08 PM).] |

Nice "wishful" write gal....that breakfast in bed is indeed a sweet gesture...whether from your mate, or from a very sweet child...a dandelion, burn't toast with O.J. spilled in the plate....runny eggs...and a very sweet proud smile from a five year old....think that's the best breakfast I've ever had.... |

Toe, You are absolutely right and I've had many such as you describe. Those are the most precious acts of love, bestowed by a child. Though my grandson is not old enough to cook alone yet, he'd willingly try....if I'd let him...there is something about the kitchen burning down, (and me having to get out of bed to deal with it) which leads me to wait for that special treat awhile longer. Thanks so much for your reply. Hugs and happy holidays, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

hm, the way you invite people into your world and into your emotions with the greased words you used and slick images that stick to head crevices, yep. well done. |

Dixie, Thanks for your reply. I was watching 5 AM news today and restaurant had breakfast ad on with all the yummies...and I just wished someone would go fix it for me..... Small price though for being single and mostly happy! Christian, I know you also had just read Butterfly Kisses before replying here. Thank you for two good critiques. New here, you'll come to realize some of us do talk to one another in our replying, letting each in a little more, getting to know us. I had talked w. Ethel, E-mail yesterday...so mostly my long drawn replys are sometimes to reassure others I am ok, and not to be too concerned if I write sad. Casy, glad you enjoyed. Hugs to all, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. "Desiderata" [This message has been edited by regards2you (12-20-2002 06:06 AM).] |

The only breakfast I've ever had brought to me in bed (excepting that stuff that passes for food in hospitals *G*) was from a cat. *G* Let's just say, I was wide awake after his gift? LOL I understand and live this... well written! *S* |

Hey Lady, Keep writing and letting us know about your little grandsons. I don't have any little ones around anymore, so I really enjoy hearing about yours (and the other writers). Have you looked in some of the other Discussion Forums? It's wonderful the way the "family of friends" here share photos of grandchildren, and nephews, too. Probably if I look back far enough I will find more delightful photos of our "family's" family and friends. If not in photos, then in pictures painted with their words. I guess that's part of what makes Ron's wonderful Passions In Poetry so "homey" and peaceful feeling. Don't you think?
