Please be patient................(for my son) |

Dear Chris, please be patient with me, for now I have a slower pace. The last three years have been unkind. The evidence shows on my face. Last year was very frightening. I saw the private tears you wept and felt the tremble in your voice. I said I’d live, my promise kept. Another promise, I can’t make, about what the future may hold. I miss the forests, mountain streams, us getting soaked while panning gold. I miss foot races that we ran and how I’d cheat and let you win. Dads do that for their little ones. Much happier were our times then. Though shadow of my former self, your daddy is still here for you, to help you grow into a man. There are still fun things we can do. I love you, Chris, so very much. I’ll be the best dad I can be. I mourn the loss of what we had, but life comes with no guarantee. |

Michael--I know Chris is glad that you have your life to give him, even though it is filled differently, the consistant part is still, love. |

Michael, I got through! Couldn't get your poem up earlier....to comment, or even view it, except by going through print function but cannot reply there.... This poem is so sweet and heart touching, Michael. You know ~I believe~ in miracles..... That is all I'll say except that however much energy and self you are able to give is all he'll need.... I've a feeling you love fully from where or how ever you are....this poem will mean a great deal, I'm sure.... Hugs and prayers to you, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Michael, just like Ethel's understanding of how difficult a mother and daughter's relationship can be, a father and son's can be so difficult too and my heart goes out ton you both as you truly are the best father you can be to him and I know how much you yourself have been through and how difficult it can be to console him! (big hugggssssssss) My thoughts are with you both, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." Shakira [This message has been edited by Mistletoe Angel (01-27-2003 07:17 PM).] |

Michael - dear poet-friend, this is a beautiful message of love for your son. All we can do is our best as parents - who knows what to-morrow may bring? Enjoyed. Chris "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |

Michael, since I'm having a very hard time seeing the keys on my keyboard right now, I can't say all I wish I could say to you about how this poem touched me. But, even if your words had not touched me so deeply, I would never be able to express my feelings as well as you do. Just know, dear friend, that I understand a little of the feelings you are having. And, I do believe in miracles, too... With love and hugs from Ethel (P.S. Hey Michael, I just went to your web site and I LOVE it. I really like the way your pages are set up. I didn't know that you are a painter. I've got to go back to look at some more of your work. It's beautiful.......) Oh, go put some of your talented words on Sunshine's "choka chain". Okay? Thank you... [This message has been edited by garysgirl (01-28-2003 01:19 PM).] |

Nicely done. I wish I had a dad like that. "I don't need to scream for you to deem me aggravation." |

Yes, as Karilea suggested.. I do hope you have these in a safe place for Chris. You give him so much of your love and time Michael.. This and the fact you are still here with him.. How could he expect more? I don't believe he does. He has his father..and we witnessed a miracle last year. God Bless You Dear Friend. ~Hugs & Smiles, Nancy~ ~Time has cast a spell on you, |

This is wonderful and touched me... I'm 15, I live alone with my dad and I know.. it takes a special man to realise things are slowing down, but to still love his child so dearly. May God bless your family. Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |
