escaping from a week
too busy to stop
or think about anything
i dangle precariously
on a precipice of tears
holding back a flood
from what i know not
wishing for something
that might have been
and never will
i dig my nails into
some hidden laughter
clinging to present content
and refuse to want more
for fear i’ll drown
in a torrential downpour
of unfulfilled wishes
grasping to find my center
in what is here now
real
and full of good
i will not indulge
in useless self pity
turn up the music
it's time to dance

Like this a great deal. Good attitude while it works...you captured many a week of mine, past and present.

Enjoyed. Pat

"i dig my nails into

these are my favorite lines in it.
Though I like it all!
Positive is wonderful.. if you're really feeling positive that is. Too much fake hurts. Beautiful!
