He sits quietly in the night Blows his smoke rings in the dark Loses himself in contemplative thought Stepping stones away from the light "Dear God, what pain upon myself I've brought" Hour after hour Day after day Stigmatized by the thought That will not go away quietly in the night To his muse he will lark While he blows, no one knows Smoke rings...in the dark Does he hold onto this memory? To ward off commitment of new? Bleed some more to be secure Another lover will never discover His heart he keeps hidden from view? New loves, never to embark For while he blows, no one knows An end is coming....to his smoke rings...in the dark |

"love like you've never been hurt"...someone said it once... and someone else said, "easier said than done"... |
