We bonded in hopes of castles and prayer gardens
A unity of our soul
that was never to be separated
We were to be one
a life of fairytales come true
I had dreamed of being with
you long before we met
Wished upon the night’s first star that I
Would accompany you
along life’s path.
Days and Nights drifted
until time found us together
A little girl was borne to complete
this package.

But, in every fairytale
walks a villain
in this one
Walked We.

Our life twisted and turned
until broken crayons
marked boldly
outside the lines of our
tinker toy dreams
Paper doll houses
and Barbie doll Vets
Play-do walks along the church steps
printed pledges
from erasable ink
and our sip of life...
from a Kool-aid drink.

But our love was real once

.

Upon a time

.

How bittersweet is this~

Our sip of life...
from a Kool-aid drink.

Nice writing Salty girl, even though it leaves an after taste.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Salty, I just wish we could all just live in those special times, I always loved seeing little girls play with My Little Ponies and Barbies and little boys climbing trees and playing hopscotch! (sigh) This is beautifully sad, sweet friend, I wish for love to always remain like this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Salty, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Thank you all so much for responding.

This was about me and a childhood sweetheart that I actually  played house with when I was young....we ended up getting married after several years. What I thought was going to be me and my soul mate turned outto be one of the most painful relationships of my life.  Our life together ended in a charade...not unlike our childhood play.

Things were a little easier as child though
sometimes it would be nice to back...to Innocence and sipping life though a Kool-aid drink.

I appreciate each and every one of your responses
thank you for stopping in and sharing this with me.

This made me sad, but then I was there in the shadows watching the fairy tale unfold and then unravel. Excellent write Salty, straight from the heart~! *S*

Salty,

So very well written. You captured what millions go through...and it is a wonder, when it seemed so right in the beginning.

Yes, Salty girl, lots have been in this place of having to grow up and see that it was all a fairy-tale....or most of it, anyway....

Good write, friend...

It can be scary when you put it all out there...in one basket...and figure out it was the wrong one. ATOV you always told me it was a Love Story,  it just didn't have a happy ending.  Amazing how love and hate walk hand in hand isn't it?  He turned into my posion...and I'm glad I don't have to deal with it any longer.

Thank you both so much for reading me today.

Salty,
I could see the pain in the broken crayons, sometimes first loves are merely crushes and that's what they do.Glad to see you are moving on. Well written.

A painfully delightful write...

But, in every fairytale
walks a villain
in this one
Walked We.

~ So you are not putting the blame on either of you, that you consider both of you two, villains?

Thank you everyone for stopping in and reading.  Opeth you asked if I put the blame on both of us.... That's a long story *S*.  Actually he became very abusive to me, extremely jealous and impossible.. but in all fairness..I must add, maybe it was the fact that we just didn't work together. He seems to have done an about face now that he is with someone else. I truly do not have feelings for him anymore ...except for not very pleasant ones.   It's amazing to me...what we were..what "IT" became...and what it is now.

WHEW...I'm glad to be out of there !

The good news is that you got out of that abusive relationship and are in, what appears to me, much happier times.

Husbands, boyfriends, etc...abusing the ones they are supposed to love and cherish is sickening to me.

Salty--I like the way you wrote this, quite impactful.  Sad the changes that take couples away from those first promises.
