Dreams of a Dreamer

Night brings euphoric and mystical scenes
Into dimensions of magical dreams
Leaving your head spinning round in a trance
And your heart tumbling into a somersault dance
For the vision is real and the image enchants

Awareness of truth in the dawn wanders back
From behind eyes attached to a slumbering track
Reality struggles to get a tight hold
On a lullaby mind that takes time to unfold
Its coverlet quilted with threads spun of gold

Daylight uncovers the downy lace flake
That sweeps over landscapes of meadow and lake
What a wonderful sight for a daydreamer’s mind
That can capture the grace in whatever it finds
Leaving nothing of splendor and beauty behind

It doesn’t quite matter perspective or view
The only real value is what’s real to you
My reality may seem a mystical haze
To a mind that skips over the things that amaze
But I am a dreamer, on snowy white days
