Goodbye Harivansh Rai Bachchan, poet and beloved citizen of India, 1907-2003 Your final goodbye was made in Mumbai, on a Saturday night while the world still focussed on another possible fight. You wrote your heart with 'transparent honesty' and gave Shakespeare to the masses in Hindi. You woke up millions of minds with your "Madhushala" theme of social unity. You were loved and read by millions, and millions will mourn your passing. But you will not be forgotten, your legacy will live long. Farewell. Namaste. I wish you a Peaceful Journey. (big hugggsssssssss) I regret to inform that I have never known much of Harivansh's work, though I have heard he brought Shakespeare to the people of the sub-continent and brought a whole revolution of literature forth! (sad sigh) With this in mind I must check him out, God Bless You and I too wish this wonderful writer a peaceful journey, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Thanks for the reply, Noah. Rupert Snell has translated much of Bachchan's work, and copies can be found in better bookstores and online if you want to do some reading.
