The Dark Path

I scurry bare from poll to poll
To catalyze a goals inertia
To find the essence of my soul
My paradox and my amentia

And I dance the dance of life.
In the music of the gleans
In the presence of my wife
And know not what it means.

How can an absolute evade
That flows eternities eight
How can a primal soup be made?
Within a constant change of state

I genuflect a willows bend
And often say a prayer or more
To light the ways of mental wend
To open up this puzzles door.

Will I sip the Holy Grail?
Or will the paradox prevail?

Amentia-mental retardation
Mental handicap
Simplemindedness

Never will you simple minded be,
not in state of poetry,
for you talk of tales and awesome sails
and Randy helps you with the gales...

then you bring in harmony
and set before us cakes and tea,
never will you simple minded be,
when you swish your reveries...

that the wisdom of a sage,
can most often

but i guess you are in the dark at times too

I enjoy this! ..but you sir, are not nor never will be simple minded, no, you're certainly quite profound and I see more through your words than that!
...though, things can get rather confusing.. there's gotta be some opposite to udnerstanding, right!?

Seymour darling heart NOW this is not only truly excellent writing, but the meter and rhyme is beautifully maintained. Never ever do you write something that isn’t magnificent, but sometimes you write something that leaves me gasping at the sheer brilliance of its write. I almost might say this was a write of might, might being power, not perhaps, there is no perhaps about this exquisite poem. I cannot understand why it hasn’t garnered a million and one replies, Just sometimes it is necessary for me to hunt out the gems of your soul and bump them, so now bumpity bump up to the top you go.

Buddy you amaze me. I'll tell you why. As a postgraduate, I worked as a clinical psychologist for three years. I can't recall anyone speaking of 'amentia.' I think it's great to know you can depend on a poet to use it.
Thanks. Keep 'em alive...

It's amazing I won. I was running against peace, prosperity, & incumbency.

(smiles) Keep in mind that inside the waters of the Holy Grail there lies a paradox of its own, one of true beauty in cuneiform, one which no architect could equal! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

JM,
I don't analyze them I just write them depending on the mood. LOL
Randy has no patience for this, so I let him do what he wants. I think he's headed for your place.

Sy,

I really enjoyed this poem, it absolutely makes my mind smile.

I also giggled at your comments to Winston's and Denise's replies.

Adding a good sense of humor to the brilliance of this poem only proves once more how blessed we are to have you share your gift with us.

Thanking you, Pat

Seymour, you are so sweet and humble.  If some people had the wisdom, knowledge and the gift and talents to write poetry as well as you do, they would be very conceited. This would come across in their poetry, as well. Nothing like that comes through in your poems...only love and compassion.

Guess you can tell that I'm a very big fan of your's and Randy's....

a painful reality, as many are
but a cure to amentia
is a youthful mind
and a glorious poet's pen
like yours
