Living With Who I Am

five days I’ve ignored the urge
yet, now, with time, will verses merge?

if I should let myself be free
to write and sing with gaiety

will what I find upon the page
calm the stirrings, my heart assuage?

I’ve read, I’ve walked in leisure hours
I’ve spotted bulbs of spring time’s flowers

yet not allowed my words to bloom
upon this facet of this room

what might my finger’s flutters bring
as I allow them time to sing?

the pallor of the gray-filled sky
seems much the seem before my eye

if I might give color to
the parchment of this page, anew

would it not be likened worth
the glowing of a springtime earth

yet I am merely the extent of me
and my gift’s pastel to see

for the power of the rainbow’s glow
is not a thing I can bestow

so look to heaven, its fine reward
to find what faith and prayer afford.

Soft and pretty. Enjoyed this and the ending lines, especially. Well written, if flows nicely.

Thanks,
Pat

(big hugggsssssss) Even while I may be heartbroken right now, I believe we should always write with God on our side as so many take Him for granted as He is truly the grandest muse of all! (sigh) Never force the writing, take breaks if you need to but write from your heart is the #1 rule, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
