state of confusion

Playground Lessons

Sam, the bully, has a reputation to protect.
Even though he’s won many school ground battles,
he grows older and unsure.

He’s there, on the old gray wood bleachers,
surrounded by his gang –
other rough boys urging him to

fight!
fight!
fight!

He still enjoys a good contest, likes to WOW the crowd with blood.
But the competition is getting tough. They threaten his throne.

Three dudes are coming this way - all at once.
He wonders if he can take all three.
For once, he knows fear.

The power of fear...the power of numbers...

You have said it well.  Thanx Cor.  I always
hated bullies...Sadly,  they are the ones
that suffer the most...never happy with life
or their true personalities...

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Corinne, it too saddens me to see bullies in the world, thank God I believed in myself and Him or I would have turned into one too when I was a kid! (sad sigh) I used to truly believe I was really a plebeian but now I understand and sympathize that they had deeper demons of their own and even while I'm hurt by what they did to me, I forgive them! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corinne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Thanks Magnus and Noah. This is actually a metaphor for the US vs Korea, Afghanastan and Iraq.

Corrine, I was all set to reply something about how I can't stand bullies, and then......

When I read in your response to the replies that you were speaking of "Uncle" Sam, I find myself holding back.......

I wonder just how many more people in our wonderful USA are "holding back" from saying what they really think to the leaders of our great country???.....to the ones who have the power to start or stop wars? Sometimes I think the whole thing is just a game to them....and to think that some of them have never even been in the Armed Services and have not seen first hand what WAR  is all about scares me very much.

I wonder how many lives will be wrecked before these war  games that they are playing is finally over.........

hmm, good poem, good metaphor, mostly, but I'm very unsure that the 'bully' feels fear, yet, just maybe the ones taking the orders and moving out/forward, do.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
