I try using grace
with those who would
deliberately
hurt me.

They,
whom I esteem
as equals.

And,
if they prove lesser
than I,
I try to remember
kindness,

when,
I grab
the flying
tip of their whip

and

jerk them back
into

reality.

I try using grace,
and
stand amazed at
their stunned
surprise:

I protect myself and
I am willing to get a
little hand burn
by putting out
their flame,
rather
than enduring
the fire
of contempt,

which singes
their essence
and ruins the image
of the friendship they
claimed to have had.

A bitter disappointment,
for me, just the same.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Patricia, I know just what you mean, I always like to think of myself as a mongoose, who just wants to befriend everyone and never hate anyone, but you know snakes and mongooses are enemies to one another so the bottom line is I just can't come through each time around! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, my heart goes out to you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Patricia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Pat, sometimes we fail no matter how hard we try to be friends to some. Some people don't want to be true friends......

Pat, I enjoyed this. Sometimes you just can't win for trying. Yes, it hurts so much sometimes.

Thanks all for replying. I "try" using grace, Goid, yes you'd think it would prevail, but it doesn't. Sometimes, when you take the end of the whip and jerk them to reality you are not letting God take care of it. You've allowed someone else power over you.
Which of course is exactly the name of that game. Pathetic. Eventually, I do let go, let God and then Look Out...

thanks, Pat

Leting go and letting God is something I'm STILL trying to learn, but I think I'm getting better, I stopped slappin' people months ago....smiles

Seriously though, it takes a bigger person to act with wisdom and I cheer for you!

This was a poem expressed from someone with a caring heart .... yes it shines through .
but I am very much like you and find it so hard letting go and more often than not get my heart used
