I have been hosea ten times
and never obedient
but have missed the women of wind
as though they were children

there are thick pages there
and I have dreamed they spoke
not with words but with neon
and grooves that fit my affliction

she will drift away with the clouds
the sun will take all but her outline
and I will put my hand to my face
to look at her between fingers

as the stones were people then
when they were young under the sky
eventually they will be again
when they become dust in water

I will be hosea again and listen
