We, the bivalve mollusk fool no one, though hid behind two flimsy shields our secret's known, that softness without segments reveals us easy prey for any whose hungry force would pry and take us whole. Our strength is in adherence, how we cleave to empty hulls, barnacle to heartless rocks for life, binding through the pounding surf, ignored by hosts who've viewed us since forever not as mussels, just crustaceans. perhaps the key, is in choosing the right host??..endless possibilities when we do.. "And it was at that age...Poetry arrived in search of me...And something started in my soul." |

What a wonderful metaphor... I'll never look at clams quite the same way again... They do have a way of clamping shut in the eye of danger, don't they??.. ![]() |

Much enjoyed the stillness and how you run so far with your thoughts..... especially this~~ Our strength is in adherence, how we cleave to empty hulls, barnacle to heartless rocks for life, binding through the pounding surf, ignored by hosts who've viewed us since forever |

There are few things I applaud more than someone who can come up with a topic never considered before and make it work. Hats off you you, sir ![]() |

I had to read this piece twice, simply because my mind couldn't get past the " whoa " of it.......great read! Nature has a funny way of breaking that which will not bend....Jewell |
