the ass-end of space

The days fold into years
as I wither and bend
in winds of hesitation
here upon the branches
of a rootless tree

But cloudbreaks reveal
a glimmering sun
who's warmth I feel
upon tired petals
and I think to myself

This could be the day......

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight
in a bud was more painful than the risk it took
to blossom"
~Anais Nin~

Thanks inked our conversations definitely brought it but the words weren't coming.
As fate would have it I just found this quote and it just flowed out of my hands on onto the page. Though I'm only beginning to discover her many writings I greatly admire Anais Nin. She's an absolutely brilliant woman.

enjoyed the "truth" of this!!

Thanks passing I know most of my poetry is darker but I do see the light occasional.

Thanks sandpiper for the kind words, and I'm glad you like the truth too

and it's true. as i learn, or attempt to accept this myself.
i love your days 'fold[ing]' into years and how i find this.

this quote is the background? on my pc, or well, somehow i have it a little different ('greater' in place of 'more painful') though the message remains,...how i admire the woman's ability to see and write/express or even breathe what is around her. even her letters, her /desire/ to write and how writing was her.
i am something of a pull toy tonight, who's string is nearly collected fully and i promise will stop soon.

im glad alicia brought this back up, gives me a chance to enjoy it too.

...this is what i see...

and to quote anais nin:
"We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another, unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. "
