Awakening

A new world is unfolding for me,
A passion is stirring inside;
You have awakened my fire,
You have captured my soul.

Each moment my life is changing,
Each day I discover more;
I see myself with new eyes,
Through your eyes I open the door.

I have never felt so comfortable,
Giving myself without a qualm,
Eager to embrace what I feared,
To embark on a journey of love.

The perfection I see amazes me,
Thoughts of you consume my mind;
I long to always be near you,
Never letting you escape.

This awakening is so powerful,
Do you realize what you have unleashed?
I wonder what thoughts you harbor,
What deep emotions you still protect?

I want to share everything with you,
Never holding anything back;
We can get lost in a sea of infinity,
Never coming up for a breath.

We can sustain ourselves on love alone,
Never growing tired or hungry,
When we are near to each other,
As we feed off our endless energy.

You have awakened all of me:
My passion and joy,
My soul and heart,
My mind and body.

No one else can compare to you,
No one even comes close.
My whole being is yours now,
Awake, alive and full of love.

Yet another hopeful love poem but alas it wasn't meant to be. But where would I be without love to inspire my poetry? I never regret giving my heart no matter what the result. My best poems come from those experiences. Thanks for letting me share.

Marjorie,  I believe that a large majority
of poets, poetry are of that one universal
word which inspires the write from each of
us.  I certainly find I am no exception.

You are in a big boat,  and we are all
sailing the same sea in search of that one
thing,  so elusive...

I believe that's true..and that's the way I am, mostly. It will come one day....we have to have faith.

Thanks Magnus I knew other poets would understand. Love is the best muse!

Ethel I feel as if you are a soul sister already and I have just "met" you today. Thanks for being so open and loving. You sound like a wonderful person from what I have seen.

Passing Shadows - Thanks. I believe that as well. But it sure is hard to wait, isn't it? But poetry will keep me company for now. And all my new poet friends here. Glad I found this place.
