In surreal time I'd ask you if the moment was just right. Do you remember how to make a minute last all day? To hum of electronics, words are formed from bits of light, casting faint illumination as we slowly slip away. Adrift in timeless reverie, in fusion with the past, no markers set the boundries to this strange and distant land, where all about is whimsy of sand-castles made to last, and matters not if knowledge gained is first, or second hand. The hour is struck from memory as images appear, what future holds in store for us will simply have to wait, suspended somewhere in between, the clock has stripped it's gears, the instant spanned before us more than one can contemplate. An exchange of keys heard clicking for the ticking of the clock, soon becomes the only motion in the universe of "Doc" |

Krawdad, Thanks. I'm sure it is. The suspension of time when we're doing somthing we enjoy is a multi-universal phenomena. Doc Serenity, Thank you, and likewise (except, you should meet my wife, LOL). |

As I was reading this, I was thinking something very similar to what you wrote in your response... when we're having a good time, in the company of people we delight in, doing something we really enjoy, etc... time is irrelevant... only the special moment is recognized. *S* Of course, when we're miserable, those hands of time are mired in super glue! LOL I like this, Doc!! |

suthern, Thank you. What you say is quite true, drudgery seems eternal, enjoyment of the moment(while fleeting)timeless. Doc |

The Universe of Doc is a strange and wonderful place... How to stretch it out?.. Simple - Use heptameter instead of pentameter in your sonnets.... |

Nan, Hold that thought, I'll get back to you on it in class.Thanks. Doc P.S., Get back to class, I hear they're throwing things, and having fun with spit-balls and the like! General Mayhem (have you actually seen this guy?) is a hoot! Last time I saw him he was wearing womens'undergarments and running towards the playgroud. Geesh! You turn your back for one second, and all "b-g-us" breaks out! Good luck. Doc [This message has been edited by Dr.Moose1 (01-10-2003 07:30 PM).] |

O.K. Doc... you grab that end and I'll grab this one and let us see if we can stretch this minute out. On three!... one... two... three... Whoops! Sorry about that... didn't mean to let it slip through my fingers. Damn those minutes to endless eternity! Ya know... a friend of mine once told me: "One plus one is three for exceptionally large values of one." Perhaps if we made the spaces larger between the seconds on the clock. I tried unplugging the clock once, but that only succeeded in making it blink on and off at 12:00, and making me late for work. I'll keep working on it though. Peace! |

Sometimes I don't even turn the computer on because I know the moment that I do it will be way past midnight in about 5 seconds! Sure is a strange phenomenon! Great poem, Doc! |

Drew, Pull My finger! Is it really you? Hey, we really have to get together again sometime. There's all kinda things that are yet to be done! Seems like I remember a "Star Trek " take-off we were going to do an' a whole lot more. Give my best to Lord Gavinson (or what's 'is name). Doc Denise, Thank you, dear lady. Yes, it is a strange phenomenon. I guess that's why I enjoy it so much. Nothing pressing, no demands,a time to simply collect ones' thoughts and express them. Pure and simple.
