Kissing You in the Shower/ Showering you with Kisses |

I'm singing at the top of my lungs, as I cover my body with soap; I pause to pull back the curtain to sustain that little hope... That dream I had stil haunts me, of you walking in the door, and handing me my towel, as we kiss, then kiss some more. My cheeks flush with embarrassed heat, as evil thoughts make me start to quiver, and despite the hot water and all the steam my body starts to shiver. I rest my head against the cool tiles and tell myself I've lost my brain, "You're crazy Shireen, you're completely nuts, you've finally gone insane." Then I wash my hair with facewash, and cover my face with the shampoo: The final sign I've lost my sense, and all because of you! I laugh at my stupidity, at the whole ridiculous scene, and yet I take that second out to peek around the shower screen. Then I rinse the facewash out of my hair and cover wash it again with the shampoo, I pray there's nothing in the facewash that'll make my hair turn blue. Then I wash the shampoo off my face taking extreme care; 'cos the last thing I want is the shampoo to make my face get covered with hair. Then I splash the water on myself, and watch the soap get chased away, I dry myself, put on my clothes, and continue to think about you all day. 24/03/99 The soul would have no rainbows, had the eyes no tears. Neither embarrassed nor evil thoughts are these, In truth such flattery should bring men to their knees. Enjoyed (by the way what were you singing?) |

It probably would have been "Angel of Mine" which was my favourite song at the time... pity I can't listen to it anymore because of all the memories it brings up... thanks for your reply mate. The soul would have no rainbows, had the eyes no tears. |

Shireen, Well now...I could use a cold shower. This is an adorable poem and so well written. I think it's a keeper. I loved this, can you tell? If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
