Above All

There is a Love above the stars
Beyond the depths of who we are
And even if we’ve been that far
Still even more remains—

For Love is gentle, Love is kind
And greater Love none e’er shall find
Above this world, beyond mankind
Than flows within our veins—

The Love that hung upon the cross
Is more than gain with all else loss
Considering the life it cost
To set us free from chains—

To know within Love reigns.

Greater love than this no man has, to lay down his life for his friends. I don't remember what chapter and verse, but it's the truth.

Thank you sky,

Thank you and I do recall this verse of scripture very well and I am familiar that what you have referenced here is certainly the Greatest love that mankind can show toward each other, but I'm also familiar that God's Love is far above our love (the love of mankind) because while we were yet sinners or not at all friends (maybe even enemies) with God (and his Son) is when Christ Jesus died for us. I'm soooo deeply thankful that God's Love is soooo far above our love. Amen. Thank you dear friend and I do (I do) appreciate your reply and your kind kind words here very much...

God bless,

-Bob

Thank you Joyce,

I do hope that this poem will be a gentle reminder and maybe an encouragement to whom-so-ever wills to come back to their first Love... I do agree with what you wrote that God's Love supersedes all other kinds and I am also somehow reminded by your reply that scripture states that these three do remain: hope, faith and love and the greatest of these is Love.

Love and God bless,

-Bob

Rae,

Thank you for your reaching out to find out how I was doing and for your welcome back. I am happy to be here. As you probably know by now, I've been taking college courses and they have been keeping me quite busy, but I am presently enjoying my summer vacation and also reading the poetry here at this site. Thank you again and, Yes, without any doubt, God's Love is most Forgiving and Unconditional.

God Bless You.

Margherita,

What a beautiful response and, yes, I do pray as you have here, my poet and Christian friend, for Love is the first commandment and, O, how we do need to renew the gift of Love in our hearts, minds, spirits, so that we can Give It and Show It to those around us. I do think that the old cliché comes into play here... "We can't give away what we do not have." Smiles.

Thank You Thank You for your Sweet Words of Love and Encouragement. God bless and Love back to You my friend.

-Bob
