THE GOLDEN YEARS

Old age is something people seem to fear, they don't want to know about the up and coming Golden Years.

The young of today think they got it made ,but one day that vision will start to fade.

As  they start to grow old and they realise to late, there time has come and they have sealed there fate.

What happened to there time in the sun, we are afraid to say it had never begun.

When people get to a certain age, they should be able to disengage.

It is sad to me when it can't be done, so these people work through that time full of fun.

To the people that see themselves as growing old and being pushed out of the family fold.

The Golden years for them will be cold, unless they can grab hold and turn things around.

So don't be afraid of what's to come work towards your time in the sun.

Welcome it with open arms and don't feel you have to be alarmed.

With grey hair comes alot of old fashioned charm

The Golden Years won't bring you any harm

I am looking forward to growing old and enjoying my time in the sun  just me and mark in our bus.

Ah, then there's those senior discounts, too.  You have a good attitude so I'm sure you'll enjoy the many phases of life.  At times since retiring, it seemed busier than when I was working 7 days a week in real estate.

I loved your poem, but my parents would laugh and say that the Golden years should be renamed the Rusty years because of all the aches, pains, creaks and groans lol.  A very nice poem that makes one want to stick around for those Golden moments.  Well done.
