I’ve stumbled through life in a half-hearted effort to find something The Something that looms just out of reach caught in the eddys of awareness I could sometimes see it out of the corner of my eye Like trying to catch your profile reflected in a mirror There was once a time when I thought that I was onto something I had collected bits and pieces of knowledge and made from them a collage of truisms a tenet of “self” filled with fractured philosophies and dogmatic diatribe, fitted together into arguable sense I would freely dispense this “wisdom” to anyone open-minded enough to see the truth of my words (“Charlie” ain't that hard to figure out) I was a snake oil salesman dispensing enlightenment Too late I found myself lost, within myself My beliefs were belied And realize now that the time that I’ve spent in dalliance with the Truth has merely been a hiatus from Consequence [This message has been edited by wranx (10-29-2002 03:09 AM).] |

Ed, I like your style of poetry. I'd right like this if I could. I do hope that you find that "something" that you're looking for. Thanks for sharing your work. Love To All, Ethel |

OH...grin...but you must KNOW that I love this? I don't think that knowing THAT would hinder your spiritual growth much Ed... sigh...speaking of not knowing, dunno where my head is these days... |

I liked this poem (especially the last verses) and your style of writing very much. No matter how good looking she is... someone, somewhere is glad she's gone. |

Normally when we make a half-hearted effort, that "something" always remains just out of reach. This is a fine snippet of a glimpse into the mind, wranx, nicely done... |

To look into ourselves and find what we truly are takes great courage. To change what is wrong takes even more courage.Enjoyed very much...Paul |

Wow. Severe self-awareness here, as only you write it Ed. I'm unable to speak. |

I had collected bits and pieces of knowledge and made from them a collage of truisms This sounds like a great description of poetry, Ed.... Maybe the something you were looking for was your poetic ability... If so... It looks like you found it ~ poetic rodent hugs Lyra |
