I saw a little Mockingbird, getting something to eat He lit right on the feeder to eat of the nectar sweet He took a litle sip, then another, maybe one or two Then he paused for a moment in midair then backwards he flew He did this back and forth for just a few minutes, it seemed Then off he flew away, with litle tiny wings that gleamed Soon there'll be all different kinds, for the birds fly South, we're told But we're already here in the South, you see, where it never gets very cold Soon Autumn will be over, with Winter's approaching soon We'll soon hear the birds from the North here, singing a happy tune Something else always happens, that I've often wondered about Where do these little Mockingbirds go, for they surely leave this "South" [This message has been edited by garysgirl (10-29-2002 08:22 PM).] |

Well done! I love birds. BTW, I think they may all hang out at Marge's place for a poetic rest. |

(smiles) Yay!!! Awwwwwww, I love mockingbirds and all kinds of birds, especially sparrows and cute little finches and hummingbirds! (kiss on cheek) I too wonder where they go but I know one thing, they will always stop here! This is delightful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Ethel, so that's where my mockingbirds have gone. Hmmm....if I were smart, I'd have gone to Florida with them. This was very cute. Hugs, Marti Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. |

Sue.....Reckon where they do go to ???? Thanks for reading my poem. Maureen...I think they just tweet. They are so cute, though. Thanks for your reply. Martie...Yeah, I'll bet that's where they go, Southern Calf., or somewhere farther South. Thanks, Martie. Juliette....OOOOHHH. I imagine it gets REAL cold there in Colorado. I would love the snow, though. Thank you for your reply. Marti....Aren't they cute little things? I love to watch them flying around the feeders.
