Build a fire and its bed. Set the warming wood aglow. At the crack of dry and limb. Orange curling yellow flames. Smoke is rising over snow, breaking shadows on the stand. Rilling glass and heating stone. Mark of char. Now edge the coal. Layer light in draping wraps. Cross the cold and list its snap. Break open a griddle egg. Run the toast in buttered path. Lift the sun in gentle fry, turn it over on its eye. Sipping coffee and its dregs. Watch the fire. Build its bed. [This message has been edited by bsquirrel (10-22-2002 02:36 PM).] |

Thank you, passing shadows. Those are memories for me, too. Janet, thanks for enjoying this little poem. Lori no longer posts here, and as you've seen, my schedule for showing up here is much diminished. Change sucks. ![]() Karilea, I did? Hmm ... the only word that sticks out here as a possible name would be Rilling. Really? Cool! Mikey |
