And so I woke to an empty place in my heart, my life meaningless at the moment. I have vented until depleted and any more is pointless. I need to exercise this burden that weighs me down and feed myself... but with what? I am so hungry but nothing tempts my appetite and so I vacate my feelings holding onto nothing once more. "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

excellent description of that dark place--enjoyed! "And it was at that age...Poetry arrived in search of me...And something started in my soul." |

damn, you're good at this free verse...I can't get it down I guess, and am amazed at those who can. |

Dear Maureen, I feel for you, try to find love, it is out there as tomorrow. Allow youself to have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. At times smile with yourself. Be well: As I woke unto an empty place Where drought had been so long I found the smallest, smallest trace Where love did once belong Between the tears I found a smile Of which I thought had gone Beneath the dirt of drought and mile I found a heart still strong With many tears of carried Near a river came to flow And as it runs it washes And the debris seems to go The hunger I’ve been feeling Now is tempted by the green The mind that now is healing Is forgetting what has been Tomorrow, yes tomorrow Please tomorrow to me come To leave behind the sorrow And share again some fun Sincerely Rick |

WhiteRose, well then we both have the same friend Sandpiper, thankyou Dixie, I just start writing and whatever comes out, comes out..sometimes it rhymes when I dont feel like rhyming and the opposite for free verse. I have a lot of inspiration, from friends and events in my life. *s Rick, it's best to not try and find love, but to let it find you. Thank you for this lovely poem . "Tomorrow, yes tomorrow Please tomorrow to me come To leave behind the sorrow And share again some fun" I will try... M |
