The demons in our minds Belong buried deep In the ground Recalling these beasts Brings us closer to death Shattering our lives With tortured memories And leaving us alone forever Only with guilt and shame |

So easy to say and so hard to do....those demons difinitely need to stay buried but most of us haven't figured out how to do that and we allow them to continue to haunt us. This is good writing...gets one to think. Thank you..  |

There is a way to process guilt and shame and I do not believe in burying them in our minds; they still torture us subconsciously if not grieved. There is so much help available to take care of these issues, it is almost a crime not to deal with them. We all think we are so unique that no one else could have thought or done the horrific things which we allowed to happen. NOBODY is that unique! By not processing it, there are many going around hurting because of them when sometimes a simple, heartfelt admission, and sincere I am sorry, are all that's needed for healing to begin. Even if that is unacceptable to the abused, the abuser has a cleaner slate to move forward in life..having done whatever possible to rectify the deed; problem is that often costs more than some are willing to pay. And the pattern usually continues, rotting minds, hearts and souls. Christ's favorite people, whom He spent the most time with were the ones loaded with shame and guilt. He loved them, wonder why. You do not have to be a Christian to get well. I could go on and on, so I'll only say thank you for this poem. It is important! Hugs and warm regards. Glad I don't have any in my mind. A couple of them tried to hang out in the pit of my stomach, but I found a way to release them.  |
