in a crumbled heap shadows cover his face the eyes are criss crossing streaks of red and the former self sits on a shelf recalling the way it use to be her fingers soothe his brow they stroke his hair unfurling she goes to the secret place, blanketed by his thoughts he becomes the blood that flows through her veins at night he is a distant creature a consumer of weeds and grains in the sunlight they laugh and dance in the memories of a love that grows as it fades |

Can’t say I understand all the meanings of this poem, But would be interested in further explanation of it. Like the images, Gloom [email protected] |

like this... the story and the pain told in short form but allowing us to see inside the relationship. I take fro this one who abuses drink and smoke... and how from the other side it is seen and effects the relationship. the character telling the story not without their own addiction... to the one they are speaking of... sad... but well done |

Yes, I also think it's a beautiful poem...just so sad. It's brimming over with things written "between the lines", with very much emotion. "Love makes the world go around" |

a taste of the sweet and sour--well done! "And it was at that age...Poetry arrived in search of me...And something started in my soul." |
