In a little bar called Tootsie’s, down in Nashville Tennessee
You’ll see pictures of the legends, next to those who want to be
The legends saw their dreams come true, the others just quit trying
And in the pawn shop two doors down, their dreams are slowly dying

With rings of gold to seal the deal, two lovers said “I do”
Certain they were strong enough, to make their dreams come true
The world would never beat them, there would be no need for crying
But in the pawn shop down the street, their dreams are slowly dying

It’s never really hopeless, ‘cause faith can pull you through
But faith by nature must be tried, its power comes from you
It takes time and it takes patience, you won’t find it overnight
When you’re ragged bruised and bloody, you must find the will to fight
‘Cause your faith is only tested, when your back’s against the wall
But if you use it when you stumble, it’ll save you when you fall

You’ll be locked inside a prison, and you never will break free
If you give up who you know you are, to be who those around you see
Don’t grow old & angry wondering, “What if I’d have stuck it out?”
There’s no shame in failing having tried, at least there’ll be no doubt
The person in the mirror, can only look you in the eye
If when you’re sick and tired of crawling, you find the strength to fly
You can give up on tomorrow, and be the victim of the day
Or be the one who beat the odds, by making your own way
No matter where life takes you, it’s up to you to go or stay
‘Cause the life you’ll live tomorrow, is the one you choose today

Another gem of wisdom.  I especially like the top two stanzas which present two separate vignettes relating to the same topic -- very nice.  Keep them coming!

(sigh) Oh Gerry, such wisdom fills your words, sweet friend, if we really want something out of our reach, we must work each day in making that possible, for what you feel now relates to what you become! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is wonderful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Gerry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
