Shades Of Me And You

You want to paint the world in shades of blue
but first you must see past the dark of night.
Go forth and seek to find the light of day.

You won’t because you fear the day’s new start.
You need to try to give your life a chance.
Do not step back into the dark of night.

Allow the skies of blue to brighten life.
I speak to you in tones of heart and soul.
If you will listen closely you will hear.

Your hand I hold in cherished bond of two.
Let’s paint our world in shades of me and you.

I know that you can 'read' me
but can you  'hear'  "me"?

Donna, and you certainly painted a beautiful picture of words
for my mind's eye to behold. Thank you, sweet friend.

Janet you already know that unless I'm in one of my ramble modes, I can't NOT write in rhyme.  It's much easier to think in rhyme than it is in IAMBS.  geez....
(sorry Deer, I had to say that....and thanks for your help!)

I want to thank you all for your kind responses.
I would like to take a moment and offer my special
thanks to Balladeer for letting me borrow from his
knowledge and teaching me a very frustrating way
to write in different verse than I am used to.
For you DEER:

For you my friend I send my thanks today.
A lesson learned, a pal to show the way.
I thank my friend for teaching me of verse
in Iams, oh NO I would rather curse.....
but teach he did, we had a special time
oh Deer forgive, I had to make this rhyme~

I'm certainly glad I didn't miss this lovely piece, Donna.  Penned beautifully, my friend.   *hugs*

Not for me this challenge, I have trouble with iams (except for the great I am) at the best of time, and then to not rhyme - I think me heart would stop. However, you did a wonderful job.

Donna, you did a marvelous job.  With a bit of tutoring from the best, you could not help but succeed!  Me?  I'm going to go hide under a rock until December is over...

Donna this poem is so 'you'.  Don't even think about asking me to try one of these,
you already know the answer.
