Disquietude and Butterflies

I worry too much about the past
which can't be undone,
about the present that unfolds
without a chance to slow time down,
so I can feel I am in control.

I worry about the tomorrows
and how to make my life worthwhile,
can it be done, can I fill it with joy,
will I ever stop these butterflies
that are always in motion.

I worry when I don't hear from you,
friends and family, loves of past and present
and I wonder how I can fit everyone
in a life that hasn't found a way yet
to settle itself down.

I worry why these tears fall without notice,
why I am so sensitive to everything,
temperature, sight, taste and
especially your touch and
how at any moment I ache
for something I don't have.

I worry how one acquires these
non-material gifts and how long it will take
for comfort to find me...
When with you, I am at ease,
anxiety disappears and I am left
with only the butterflies.

Maureen,

You captured the rebuilding of one's life so well. This is precious and so real....you were able to write that which many have experienced, in the unique, eloquent way you have of weaving words.  Enjoyed this.

Hugs and warm regards, Pat

Ah,MoGal~

'will I ever stop these butterflies

When given wing ... the butterfly flits forward ...
that seems to me to be the direction you are headed~

Love your metamorphosis~

Marge, I ran out of my medicine last night...therefore I slept poorly and my mood has me off the wall with seasonal ideas. You should see me trying to make 16 different craft items, 10 of each and painting, sewing, gluing almost simultaneously...I just had to take a break... I am going to put them on Ebay and earn a bit this way for now.

Thank you Pat and Sy
