I'm sorry I recoiled
from your outstretched hand
its the ones I reach for
that too often let go
On the pavement
is a chalk outline
of the last time I fell
Arms and legs akimbo
in a wretched dance
of self-pity and
self-loathing
I lay within its lines
from time to time
and relive the pain
at least the feeling
is something..
and sometimes
something is all I need
when all I feel
is numb

Raph, this is great. I liked that 'arms and legs akimbo' imagery. I've been on that pavement myself.
